if i had to reccomend one rod to a newcomer to angling or a seasoned pro,the john wilson avon quiver would win hands down every time.i have used mine for breaming in eire,swing tipping for tench,quiver tipping for pasties-roach-bream etc and float fishing for various species.they are by far the best piece of tackle i have ever owned!!!and as soon as i get a free sunday,they will be doing some winter chubbing with me.
