Born again fisherman

Due to an horrific fishing accident 18 months ago, I have been left disabled.

I would like to begin fishing again, but I've been so long out of the sport and also the accident has caused me to forget half of what I'd spent years learning.

Could you advise me on some new kit, baring in mind my accident.

Derek - first off, I am sure the whole site would be happy to help and provide advise after your accident. Especially as it happened fishing.

You say "Could you advise me on some new kit, baring in mind my accident". There are many people much better qualified to help than me, however it may help to give us an idea as to your restrictions. Obviously if its a bit sensitive then I (we) would understand.

If you continue to partake in Fishingmagic, be prepared for much good advice and even more pi55 taking.

BDAA are an excellent organisation, as suggested by Graham.

Also, where do you live? People are not normally short of offers of help from "locals".

I do not mind about talking about the accident.

When I said baring in mind my accident, this basically means that my injury consists of damage to my right buttock, right ear and all the toes on my right foot.

Would there be any equipment that might be suitable for such injuries?

I live in Norfolk.

Hi Derek. Sorry to hear of the 'fishing accident'. As others have said BDAA should be the first port of call!

I would be interested to hear of how the accident affected only those areas you mention?
