what flavours are best to add to sweetcorn for carp in a murky lake with a hard bottom please send a reply from daniel pearce

Try it without flavour first. Use maize as a hookbait.

Hi Daniel,
As David says, don't flavour it yet as it's a great bait as it is, if you are fishing fairly close in you can use it on the hook as well but for harder casting distance work the maize is tougher and stays on better.

salt, sugar, mollases, treacle, maple syrup are all worth a try

Try adding a tin of evaporated or condensed milk, or glugging the sweetcorn in maple syrup (I buy the Ice cream syrup from Iceland).
