Hi
OK I have a cunning plan.
If you look you'll see this section of the forum is used by Pike fisherman as well as carp. Why not re name it "Specialist" or some other appropriate name instead of instaed of Carp fishing?.

Agree/disagree/couldnt care less?

Jonathan, you are just trying to confuse the carpies more, we only post on here to give them something interesting to read !!!!!

Wouldn't that confuse everybody, aren't we are all specialist in a way??????
Nobody would know where to post, long trotting with breadflake is quite specialist, so is free-lining with slugs......
Unless of course you are suggesting that anyone other than pike and carp anglers aren't specialist....

In using the term specilist I meant people who fish for consistency larger fish such as a 2lb Roach a 5lb Chub or a 2 OZ fish from my locla river. It was just an idea cos people all ready seem to be ignoring teh carp title.

Sorry Jon, but surely you mean 'specimen' and not 'specialist'?

Good idea mate (never mind old Carpy, he's a grouchy sod at the best of times). But I agree with Peg Leg, Specimen would be better than Secialist.

OOPS! Secialist should be Specialist of course. Secialist sounds like a pissed labour MP.

Matters of a non carp fishing nature can be posted upon the coarse or general forums. Carp fishing subjects shuld be posted on the carp fishing forum. Now I fully appreciate that this is a difficult concept for some to grasp. Excuses trying to infer that us carp anglers have nothing interesting to talk about, are just sour grapes. This stems from our obvious superiority to our lesser gifted angling brothers. Please in future try not to post threads relating to lesser species on the carp section. MEOWWWW

The main reason that non carp threads get posted here is that when you read a news item and select the "do you wish to debate this in the forum" button, it defaults to the first section, which is carp fishing.
Those people who don't bother to read that section post it into the default one.
Williams is the worst offender........as usual.

Give me the Bristol Avon and a worm and I rarely blank. Didn't get what I went for - a big perch - but I did get one of about 1.25lb (8oz of spawn!) plus a chub and a load of roach. Not bad for a day that started frosty and didn't get much over 4 degrees.

Hi
Andrew unless you want me to start empechment processes like where started against the American president who you share your name with I think you better not try nad alienate Carp fisherman from everyone else.

Yes Specimen would probably be a better idea. It was only a idea anyway and now I thinkI'm gonna start a fight.

Anyway I'm off to post at free

Hey Jonathan
looks like you took the bait!
I am a jolly goood angler, yes?
Seriously if it was decided by the powers that be, that a Specimen section would be better than a carp section. That would be fair enough and we would know exactly where we were coming from. As it stands at the moment you click on carp fishing expecting to find just that, and many a time get nothing of the sort. Personally this does not bother me, I just added to the thread out of devilment.
till next time
