darn sarf in june?

hi, can anyone help. got a holiday booked in early june. taking a friend who is 72 years old. we fancy some pier / shore fishing devon or cornwall.
are there any mackeral about at this time? grateful for any help.

Dave, there should be loads of mackerel about during June.
Try and find out if there's a fishing tackle shop locally for info on best spots/times to try for them.

South Devon's good, spinning off the beaches or float fishing places like Hopes Nose, Torquay (bit of a climb...), the bit by the little pub down a steep hill (can't remember its name at Babbabcombe...), Teignmouth used to be ace for bass, Brixham Harbour/Breakwater etc.

I used to fill my freezer for piking and eat a few.

Is this the same Ted Tuckerman who used to present a TV programme on ITV a good few years ago? I did one with him if it is. The name sounds familiar.
