Hi

I today tried to fish using a closed end feeder. All went Okay and I managed quite a good few casts with no disasters, but my hooklength did get a bit tangled behind the feeder - how can I prevent this?

My set up was Mainline 6lb with a 4.5lb hooklength. The feeder was attached to my mainline (the mainline pasing through the eye of the plastic strip on the feeder. A number 6 shot was placed just above the join between the mainline and the hooklength to stop the feeder sliding forward.

Hi tom, Slide your feeder on the mainline followed by a couple of beads then tie it to a swivel. Then tie your hooklength to the other end of the swivell.I usually use the loop metthod but i wouldnt know where to start explaining it .The above rig or at least one like it is on the rigs page .

double over and twist the hooklength for about 3 " making a stiff boom to keep it away from the feeder. I dont like the loop rig as seen in so many mags, it looks impossible for a lost fish to lose the feeder
