Thanks lads. It has been a struggle this past season, being a new river to me.
I reckon I've had more blanks this last year than I can ever remember having before.

I've said before that a Hants Avon apprenticeship can be a long and frustrating one.

I'm still a novice on this water, but I feel now that, ever so slowly, this river is beginning to give up her secrets to me.

I'd certainly like to think so!

You know what is really nice about it? The bit about using a pin and trotting a bit of flake.

Nice one. Who is the young (er) guy holding it then?)

Richard,

Congratulations on such a lovely Chub.

Hampshire Avon apprenticeships seem to last a lifetime, don't they?
Maybe that is what keeps us coming back to that lovely River time and again, and again.

Peter, we never did meet up on the river last season did we?

Perhaps next season when you're back in the country.

Well done Richard.

Anyone who thinks the Avon is easy, should try fishing it.

old and northern....what do you expect?

having said that, 75% of you lot are old and bloody northern.

We'll sort 'em out Wol.

That's why it's quiet on Thursdays, all going to cash the pensions and walk the pigeons......
