Only one way to start this thread, how will this affect sport in the short term and more worryingly in the long term.

Is this the drain where the fish die every now and again through de oxygenation.

Hopefully it'll get rid of the phosphate-rich silt which causes an algal bloom each summer, which in turn kills loads of fish when it dies and decomposes.

I'm sure it will improve things, certainly over the longer term.
