Come on guys, will you help out a new fellow Carper? I am moving over from 15 years of general course angling into the 'big boys league' and need some pointers to get me going. I have access to some good lakes in the Lea Valley, Herts, that hold some good Carp and own the rods and bait runners etc that are required for the job it's just the small matter of the over-whelming ammount of choice in end-tackle. Methods, PVA this and that, the right hooks and hook length material, bolt rigs etc and most of all, all the baits available!!! Where do I start to get my first double???

Jeff,If you have fished for tench and bream, its a case for going a notch up,I.E.
line,hair rigs,trying out differant methods,
read what you can,I feel that there`s no short cut to be a instant carp fisherman.
Try simple rigs and baits, alot of baits used for tench will work for carp.
Dont worry about your first double, catch your first carp, any size and work from there.
