Has anyone used or seen any of the rods made/imported by Ron Thompson?
Not having a supplier near to me I would be interested to hear anyones views.
I know you generally get what you pay for, but rods with SIC's and full Portuguese cork handles aren't generally at the bottom end of the market but the prices are incredible.
You can view them here.....

They are under various sections so you will have to go into the necessary ones.

Your esteemed views please.......

I picked a ron thompson fly rod up at a fishing show gave it a swing and it promptly snapped above the joint. It could have been a bad one.

A friend of mine runs a small tackle business and had several RT stepped up float rods aimed at the commercial carp pool market. On the basis of a few waggles it certainly seemed ok. The lads that bought them liked them well enough and for the price, under ?40,they seemed like good value for money.

They are built on composite blanks, hence the cost. Certainly a lot of them get sold up here, but I personally would not buy, prefering to go for a Daiwa or something reduced from last year.
