I was recently lucky enough to be invited to Pads at Yately for 2 days by a company that I work with ! Great!
What amazed me about such a venue was the state of the swims, the one I eventually settled on had a very dodgey platform, a railway sleeper 2 feet back for the waters edge, 2 inches above the ground, some old carpet? and the trees had not been trimmed. Other swims had similar issues.
There was a 'baliffs swim' out of bounds of course, that the bailff had not fished since last year!
The toilet was a single pump out job ( no pun intended!).
There was no running water on site.
Car park surface like the moon.
Are we really mad paying such prices and not expecting decent facilities??
My club lake is better kept!
Are other prestige fisheries the same?? if so I will stick to club fishing!
PS the fishing was great so does it really matter?
