Does anyone on FM know if old fashioned fishing baskets are still available, and if so where from, and how much?

Jesus, ?90, how come anything with the words "traditional", "specialist" or "collector" cost twice as much as normal?

I've seen some here:-

Somerset Willow Co

for a much better ?55.

I just remember my old basket as being great for cleaning out - maggots and groundbait just fell through the weave, and I could hose it down in the back garden.
Back to the rose tinted glasses!

Carl,
I bought mine a couple of years ago from a float maker who lives in the West Country and paid about the same price as those on the Somerset Willow web site.
I'll try to find the information and let you know.

I agree with you though, anything with the word "traditional" in the title does tend to cost a lot more.

See if you can find even a reproduction of a "traditional" landing net, of the type Bernard Venables used, for less than 150 pounds.
