Any divers here?

I was think of getting hold of a diving suit and a snorkel and taking the plunge as it were.

Would I need any permission from the land owener\controlling club to do this. Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Try and find a diving club and take some lessons. On the point of permission is yes the land might only be rented by the club.
John is also correct never dive alone.

Try and find a bscac or padi dive center in yor area for advice and training,even snorkling can be dangerous if dont know the basic`s,as others have already said dont go alone and dont rely on just having someone on the bank.2 big training places to do a search for are capenray dive centre north lancs and stoney cove in the south
