getting set up

Having fished with several clubs, I've found they all operate their league system on a similar basis.

If there's 15 anglers the winner of each match should get 20 points,2nd place 19 points, 3rd place 18 points, etc...... If an angler blanks (or doesn't turn up)they get 0 points. The club champion is the angler with the most points at the end of the season.

You can add variety by having special matches which attract double points, e.g. the Christmas fur & feather match, or anglers could play a 'Joker' for double points in a match of their choice once a year.

Some clubs have a second championship based on the cumulative weight of each angler over all matches.

One thing I would advise is that any 'rules' are made very clear, such as no Pike or Eels to be weighed in,any bait bans, and in particular the peg boundaries.
