I need to send my rod back home to oz soon, it is a 12.5 foot barbel rod. so obviously when it is broken down it is still over 6' in length. My problem is, the post office won't accept anything over 1.5 metres and when i spoke to a shipping company they said there is a minimum charge of ?80. Does anyone know anyway I could get it home cheaper? Any advise would be much appreciated.

After a little searching the relevant bit of the outcome to Peter Wallers problem is reproduced below,

quote

"Post Office rules, as seen by one Jobs-Worth, are a maximum of 1.5m long. Fortunately I tried the morning shift today, they accepted it! Either they ignored the 'rule' or the rule didn't exist. I didn't push the matter, I was glad to get the parcel on its way."
