if you had to pick one bait only to use for one year what would it be and why ?

mine would be worms because there is not a fish in our lakes or rivers that cannot be caught on a worm large or small fish will have a go

Bread because most species will eat it and its cheap as chips; and like Richard says the Snigs dont seem to like it.

Bread for me too, you can float it or sink it and use it in all sizes.

I'd have gone for Lobworms which are by far the best all round bait. But i couldn't do without my Tenching and for that reason alone if limited to one bait I would choose Casters.

Dendras which have helped me to pick up a fair bit of coin this year.

Notice anything?
I find it interesting that nobody has mentioned boilies or other 'designer' baits.
Only 11 postings I know, but food for thought perhaps? (No pun intended).

Thought you might have preferred to use carp Ron!

Oh and carp as well, about 3 lbs, cut in half with the head end on a 4/0 hook and the entrails hanging.

Excellent catfish bait.

Might be good for pike as well. I have 4 mirrors about 3 lb apiece in my deepfreeze.

Boilies and designer baits - there, I've mentioned them now. They catch more anglers than any other baits. :)
