Well done to both Dave and Will, for Dave to have the balls to teach somebody and for Will to to have the balls to ask for a bit of help.
A well informed artical.

Dave thanks again bod.
Also a nod to Graham who sent me a nice little package for the teach in.
Two did go to Oxford, and,in May next year two will return to Oxford.the saga will continue.

If anyone out there is struggling with anything you can safely place a bet you can get the help you need from someone or other on this site.
I wanted help with a spot of specimen carp fishing,i've caught them on the pole, waggler and feeder rod from the commercial fisheries that specialise in pasties.i wanted quite a few pointers on the specimen side of things, and, earlier this year i replied an ad to an invite to a teach in.
I made the journey from Notts to meet a Dave Rothery from Devon. From the outset Dave answered every question i put to him.To be honest i was apprehensive on going over to St.John's for the second day being a newcomer to the big carp scene, but, after Dave's logic it seemed the right option.
All i can say about the experience is that if the option for others comes up to go on a teach-in or fish-in then go do it.I have made a new friend, who, asked me to return in May next year.I can't wait.
If there are others who would want to go i'm sure they'd be more than welcome.
Thanx again Dave.top man

Its what FM's all about.

I have had Les's offer of a days piking on his waters (I'd love to get into it but I am reall worried about handling the fish, and he offered straight away).

Similarly Jeff with an offer to fish the Thames, something I have always wanted to do.

I have problems with my digi pictures. "Send them through" says Graham, and within a few hours I have 5 re-enhanced pictures.

Trouble is what can I offer back?

Anyone need any advice on cooking, dahlias, "organic" gardening so I can feel a bit less guilty??

Hi Stuart,"Trouble is what can I offer back",I think that Dave will agree that the fact that you are prepared to learn from someone that you don`t really know, instead of maybe making a hash of it on your own,is in it`s self giveing something back in a Irish sort of way.
And being new,you may come up with a new slant on thing`s.

....and also the "teacher" tends to remember things he'd forgoten! so many things the carp guys can learn from the bream/tench guys (and vice-versa!)
