Problem with Abu 704

I have just bought a new Abu 704 following a long break with fishing.

It seems to have a problem where, when you pres the front plate to cast, sometimes only one of the line pick-ups retracts into the cover. When I took this back to the shop, I tried some other 704's and they were all the same. Is this a universal fault with this reel?, I dont seem to rermember the 506 having this problem.
Does this problem diminish once the reel gets "worn in"?

I have the same reel and the same problem. I've removed one of the pins (fairly easy to do) and I don't appear to have the problem now. I had a 1044 a few years ago and this had the same problem with the dual pin pick up. I removed one of those pins too and it was fine then as well.
