While fishing most of last sunday using turtle leads, after about 2 hours in the water I noticed one of my leads was completely devoid of all plastic coating. I looked like it had somehow dissolved.
Could maybe the acidity of the water due to rotting leaves have done this? or maybe as it was a hotspot someone has thrown in a bag of cement?

Does anyone have any other ideas as this troubles me immensley?

By the way, nearly blanked but saved by a 4.1/2 lb tench.

It was actually 10.1/2 lb until I took off its acid resistant riggers and removed the batteries.
