I mostly fish for barbel whe the rivers are open, but like Fred, not exclusively by any means.

I too am after some tench at the moment; and a canal carp after the canal carp challenge, started on this forum a month or so back.

As others have said, not an out and out Barbel boy. But when the rivers are closed to me I tend to fish the canal a lot (out of the living room window) and I'll take whatever pulls my string.
I have bought a ticket this year for a local lake so I'll be trying to up my pb Tench.

When the river season is in full flow, its barbel and more barbel. So far been carping once for a few bream, but the way the weather is i am going to wait until the temp comes up again. In between then and fishing its doing a few recce sesssions for the barbel season....

Im already eeling stu. 3 trips 1 eel of a pound a bit cold yet.Set myself a target and will only fish for barbel when its right this coming season
