You should listen to Prof Bumblebee,I only read the first half of The Cave this morning(you can find it on the net if you search,no need to go to the library)and then went out this afternoon and ended my longest ever barbel blank in 25 years with a PB of exactly 13lb.

Who knows what it might have weighed if I'd read all of it!!

Congrats John,I've gone 14 Barbel blanks on the Trent so far,but I keep trying,keep it simple,perhaps.

Thanks Fred,I'd gone a lot more than 14 blanks(for barbel) but wouldn't like to speculate exactly how many.

Couldn't have been much simpler,three swan shot straight on the line,size 2 hook and a large chunk of Spam.

I'm fairly sure it was this same fish that I hooked about 6 weeks back 200 yds further upstream but it fell off at the net.
