Match Fishing Clubs

As I have been away from any sort of cometitive sport for quite some time (and now to old and too fat with knackered knees to pursue rugby/badminton/squash etc) I am now looking for a new outlet for my competitive side. I don't want to dive straight into the open match scene so I would like to join a club that has a lot of matches throughout the year.

Now to my question. Does any one know of such a club based in NW Leics/South Derbys. I am mainly intersested in still water/canal fishing having never fished flowing waters.
