Looking forward to a new year and setting some new challenges. A few of the things I would like to happen in 2004.
Catch a bass from a surf beach.
Catch a sea trout at night.
Stop buying lures every time I walk in to a tackle shop.
Spend more time fly fishing small rivers.
Catch a late winter/early spring tench.
Catch a 10lb+ pike from my favourite stretch of canal.
Get back to trotting for spring-time roach.
Catch a specimen sized dace, take a photo, smile to myself, and put him straight back in.
Lets be honest, if I achieve two things out of that list I will be a very happy man.
What about the rest of you? Any "love to dos" for the coming year on your minds?

6lb chub is my immediate goal. A couple of 5lb 13oz'ers has seen me go close.

Love to catch a big tench and a 20lb+ carp too.

A big tench from a lake I'm going to look at this year (Mullingar), A good sized brown on a dry fly anything over 2 lb will do (from the top of the Liffey), learn how to fish the nymph on small streams I fish(again the top of the Liffey). Maybe a carp to 10lb from my local park have been told there are some in there (rare enough in Dublin without having to pay to fish). Oh and to catch some decent Roach trotting on the Liffey in the heart of Dublin. Might sound like much but from these swims and areas I'd consider that pretty good.

For my comming year is to get out a bit more than I did this year. I have plently of things I would like to do.

1) Catfishing in France or Spain.

2) To improve my personal best Barbel on the River Severn at Bewdley.

3) To try and catch a few Pike from now and before the closed season.

Carping in France ,catching the biggest tench in the clubs tench pool and winning the lottery would do for starters. Then when i had the money in the bank my own fishing complex and tackle shop chain would quickly follow.

I don't expect to catch a PB chub
I don't expect to catch a 30lb carp
I don't expect to catch a 15lb barbel and
I don't expect to catch a 3lb perch.

And knowing my luck, everything will go just as I expect.
