I am quite new to carp fishing I take care with carp mats separate keep nets and gently treat this fish I am sure my local fisheries owner appreciates this. But I can only say I was greatly shocked on my visit to Tesco when there on the fish slab was the most immaculate mirror carp on sale I must say I have never see this fish on sale before and I am sure the owner of my local fisheries will be shocked to know that people may take a liking to this fish and his stocks may become somewhat depleted. I wonder what any other angler thinks.

As long as it was farmed for the table and not "taken" from a local lake I see no problem..

How does it taste?

carp are a genetically enginered fish designed for the table. mirrors were "designed" to be easier to de-scale. dont see the sea anglers moaning about fish and chips!

most commercial lakes could do with a few less carp.....! like bn says, so long as they are farmed carp, whats the problem? big carp dont taste so good anyway....
