But just in case you really don't know, Martin is one of the UK's most respected and successful specialist anglers, and Terry is one of the UK's most respected and successful carp anglers.

Doesnt Martin Bowler still have the crucian carp record? and is he john wilsons nephew?

i was privilaged, none of my uncles or father fished so i had to learn from books and by endlessly hassling the bloke in the tackle shop,
i actually taught my dad to fish.

as you can see i am forever traumatised by the lack of adult instruction while i was a nipper and me mother can unpick any knot shown to her in about 10 minutes.

it's my mum that used to unpick all my knots, birds nests and tangles when i was between about 5 and 8 years old, it's amazing the ammount of crap a mother will take to keep their offspring happy.
i've thankfully learned how to avoid them since then.

well you know what it's like andy you grow up and move on a bit.
i definitely shouldn't have written that about knots though, spent 5 hours lure fishing today using that okuma eb50, i had 4 knots in the braid big birds nests when line 20 yards further on to the spool came off mid cast and caused a huge foul up.
the damned things started missing the front lip of the spool now and winding round the drag button.
