Do floaters still work at this time of year?Iv got a the ingredients required for floater cake unless chum mixers would work better.Im asking this because in Terry Hearns In pursuit of the largest(fantastic book) he seems to fish floaters alot whatever the weather.

Really depends on the venue and conditions. ive took fish off the top on quite a few places using chum mixer but pop up boilies are good to. Try to fish close to overhangin trees because so much natrual food and insects drop in the water its a good place to start. Let me know how you get on!

I've had fish off the top in winter.
Certain lakes respond, shallow areas that catch the sun seem favourite.

Still use flavoured mixer as per the summer.

i found an air-injected lob worm was a good surface bait! lots of movement but seemed to attract a catfish! worth a try though but careful when using a hypodermic needle, and also if your using barbless hooks make sure you use a section of rubber band to stop the worm coming off the hook.
