Quiver Tip Problem

I have a Shimano Stradic Specialist rod which I bought some years ago. I don?t use it often with the quiver tip section because of a problem that occurs on the cast, wether it be under arm or over arm.
The problem is that there is a permanent loop of wire whipped on an inch and a half from the end ring, to accept a star light or betalight, which the line keeps on looping its self around. The distance from the wire loop to the next rod ring is two and a half inches, I have lost three tips through the line looping and snapping the tip.
Does anyone have any suggestions on re- distancing the starlight clip or even re-spacing the rod rings?

Incidentally I whipped a beta light adaptor onto my wilson rod and don't have any problems with it.

Baz Ive got a technium specialist which is similar with the istope attachments!

I havent had any bother with mine mate, maybe the stradics attachments are at a different angle and get caught on the cast!

Eddie,
Thanks mate, If you don't mind I'll have a look at yours if I bump into you sometime, or have a look at one in a shop.

I've got a Technium Specialist Avon and a Technium Specialist Quiver. I have this problem with them both!

I actually fit a length of silicon and a starlight all the time, even in daylight, so the line has to loop over an inch or more to get caught up.

If you don't night fish, just carefully pull the wire loop off with a pair of pliers. You can do this and then still use one of those clever adaptor thingies from Enterprise Tackle.

Coops,
I'm glad it's not just me then. I think I might cut mine off and use an adapter, but I would still have the same problem in the dark.
i'm pretty sure I saw Matt Hayes on Home and leisure tonight , and he seemed to have his piece of silicon right up next to the end ring. Has anyone else noticed this? Maybe he was haveing this problem, seeing it was him who endorsed the rod.

I agree, the adapters are much better when placed either right on the tip or directly above the penultimate ring. The Shimano fixtures are a problem becuase the are whipped between rings.

Coops,
Thanks a lot, I will re-whip mine right next to the end ring to begin with, and see how it goes, I'll report back next week.

If you look at the Tackle Enterprise they make quivertip adaptors for putting istope in the slot. They come to two difference sizes small or large.

I have got these adaptors on all my specilist heavy feeders rods.

Andrew,
Out of interest, where on your tip do you fit the adapter, ie right on the end or set back?

Its best if you take the one off thats on and just move/whip it directly above the ring before the tip ring

I set mine in between the second ring and the third ring, but no more above the second ring because it will might tangle up.

I made a mistake in my last post you can obtain them from Enterprise Tackle and should cost you no more than ?3.00 for two adaptors

right then i use 2 adapters one on the tip and one on the third ring, this shows bites much better than one isotope.
you look for movement of one isotope relative to the other, instead of watching it swim around in your vision and wondering if you've got a bite or not.

Baz take your quivertip in the tackle shop and make sure you buy the right size as I said before they come in two different sizes.

Right gents,
I got the adapter and fitted it right next to the end ring, went chubing, and after umpteen casts I had no tangles.
Next I fitted it onto the next to the end ring, again after a couple of hours casting I had no tangles.
So out of curiosity I fitted it back to its original position between the first two rings, result a tangle on the first two casts. Thanks for all the help and advice, I now have another rod which I can confidently use again.
