Number 1 here is chub. They will take a variety of flies both wet and dry, but the most enjoyable is using a dry fly like a big daddy long legs.

Dace also take dry flies very well.

Rudd take flies extremely well. I once caught 20 of them up to 2 lbs from an Irish lake. I must admit they were more fun than trout.

The biggest fish I have every caught on a fly was a carp of 25 kg!

Why have you gone metric Ron? Always thought you were a traditionalist.

At work, and when I lived in Africa, I was totally metric. We weighed all our fish in grams and kilogrammes. That fish I caught was weighed in kg, and that's how I remember it.

Since living in UK I have reverted to the imperial system somewhat, although I do tend to convert back to metric to get a feel how big a fish is.
