Cormorants taste like chicken

Aparantly cormorants taste like chicken - according to Icelanders who consider them a delicasy (in season of course). Perhaps we can get an agricultural licence, and maybe even an EU grant, for our fisheries; and gain designation as agricultural institutions who deliberatly breeding cormorants for the table, after all they have been well fed on our stock and we keep replenishing it, so isn't that feeding your stock. We could then cull them and sell them for the table. We could even start a counter trade with Iceland for their cod.

April 1st has long been and gone.

Cormorants taste of fish 'cos that's what they eat. (second-hand knowledge)

They don't eat chickens as far as I know.

Snake and crocs taste a bit like chicken though but then they both eat chickens so I suppose that's about right then?

For what it's worth reported on Terry Woggan this am. Given what else the Icelanders eat, rotten fish and buried eggs etc anything must taste of chicken in comparison.

You obviously haven't been to a battery hen barn have you?

When old farmer Giles picks out the dead carcasses he throws them into the feeding troughs and the remaining live birds eat the dead ones.

That's why chickens taste of chicken!

Kind of puts you off of caged hens somewhat don't you think?

The Terry Wogan show has had a long running thing about other foods "tasting like chicken". Presume this was one of those that a listener has added to the list for them. You've got to listen to it to get the full jist.

I've given up eating chicken because of the disgusting way it is produced in this country.

And it also tastes like Longpig.
