I have just joined loughborough university and was wondering if anybody can advice me where gd places to fish mainly in loughborough and a short travelling distance from loughborough. Cheers

in loughborough you have the loughborough
canal and the river soar good bream fishing on the soar when the it coulors up fishing all year round on the canal

and you could easy walk to the canal from the universtity

I grew up on the Soar, boy, how the times have changed from bashing out Gudgeon. The fishing now is extremely good. Soar Valley Tackle is good, as well as a new place on Nottingham Road (think it's opposite the Koh i Noor Curry House). Try the canal in Loughborough, or head down stream to Normanton on Soar and Sutton Bonington, follow A6 signs to Derby out of Loughborough, then the A6006 when you get to Hathern). Tight Lines !!!!
