Insurance for fishing equipment

I am looking to get my gear insured but i have been told diffrent stories about how its covered.Some say its covered in you home content's insurance but i don't think it is when lets be honest its used external to the house.Any help would be appreciated.

mine is on my household insurance with lloyds tsb.

and it is covered out side the house.
if you drop it in the river their cover does not apply but if like me you are silly enough to leave ?300 worth of lures on your car roof then drive off.
if you report their loss to the police presuming you don't find them when you go back and get an incident number then all the lures will be replaced including the box that they were in.
you can also get accidental damage cover for about 6 quid extra.
