I've just smashed one of my favourite rods,a Drennan IMB specimen float which I used for trotting for big roach, chub, bream etc.I found my "normal" match rods a bit lacking in power & I need to replace the Drennan with something that will allow me to use a lightish bottom but which wont rip small hooks out in fast flows.Power float rods seem too stiff and very carp orientated...not ideal for trotting big sticks/balsas all day long.I suppose I'm looking for a "beefy" stick float rod but does such a beast exist nowadays ?

Any ideas/suggestions ? I've given up trying to find another Drennan.
