I've used various hook retention systems over the years.

Hook boards by the likes of korum, plastic wallets for sea fishing, and small hook length retainers for pole fishing.

I'm now looking for something small enough to fit inside a normal sized padded reel case along with other tackle (I already have a delkim, a float tube and other bits and bobs in there).

It will need to house maybe one or 2 wire traces, one or 2 fine line maggot hook links, and one or 2 worm hook links.

I'm thinking something along the lines of a small length (couple of inches) of pipe insulation inside a plastic tube, unless anyone has any other suggestions shop bought or improvised?

I've got one of those mate, it's just a tad too big.

If you really need it to fit into a padded reel case then I think the pipe insullation idea is probably the best.

The squash-able reel cases are spot on for bits and pieces when mobile for perch and chub fishing Pete. It limits what I can carry which means I do not carry excess kit.
