My Mrs was tasked with buying a fishing umbrella on her trip to the UK, but it didn't work out (long story!). It seems that I can get Avanti brollies from Sports Direct without getting clobbered too much for postage.

Any experience of these?

Sports direct were previously known as Used Tackle here in the UK, some of their stuff is ok but a lot of it is poor and wont last long, if possible I have found it best to visit a store and handle whatever I am looking to purchase if it isn't a known brand.

OK, so can anyone recommend a lightweight, good quality brolly, preferably 45 inch, but 50 inch would be OK? Thanks.

Not sure if that is a tongue-in-cheek comment, but when it rains here, it really rains and since my "coarse fishing" is done over the winter, it would be nice to have a little shelter from it.
It just sounds so exotic from where I,m sat in rainy south Yorkshire , I always imagine oz and NZ to be bathed in sunshine every day. Yes, only a tonque in cheek thing.:)
