Hi, I'm thinking about buying a new rod for bigger rivers and lakes. As a drennan fan I'm thinking of buying the matchpro super. The model is quite old but is it still worth the investment? I hope I can hear some reviews from people who still use it. Also has anyone compared it with the acolyte plus 12ft? Thanks :)

I might be wrong but I don't think there is a dernnan 12ft plus rod.
I do have the 12ft carp waggler rod and it's a excellent rod which I would reccommend for float work on rivers and still waters. Don't be deceived by the name carp waggler as the rod is quite a refined float rod and weighs very little. Th blank is super slim and has a fast enough action for hitting fast bites when trotting or float fishing on a pool.
Unless you have a specific reason for choosing to buy a 12ft rod i'd have a think about it before committing, personally go for the 13ft or 14ft plus rod. I have the three of them and the 12ft rod is more suited to smaller venues.
I'd say the 13 and 14ft rods are more powerfull also.
