An autumn sunset

This was taken with a small Canon Compact camera during an early autumn sunrise in late September which I photographed a few years ago at a lake just to the north of Dartmoor.
It was taken during a lull before a big storm arrived.

I can't get enough of them and they turn deeper as the sun disappears.

When I was a photographer during my earlier years in the RN back in the very early 70s I used to keep a library of negatives containing sky pictures like this; which I used for creating spectacular sky’s on some of my shots when I was printing them in the dark room.

Nowerdays I guess you’d use PhotoShop or something similar to do this.

A few years later I qualified as a meteorologist and oceanographer and changed my branch I then looked at the clouds in a completely different way

Loving these sunsets Mike, not easy but a bit more exposure on the darker areas in my mind enhance the image, I cheated on this one.

I only have my iPhone John and should bring my better camera from home and set it up on the tripod .

I thought you’d say that Mike. You’d be amazed at the versatility of the camera in an IPhone or other good phones. I’m ashamed to say I use nothing other than my phone having sold off all my camera equipment.

There are also some brilliant free apps for editing your photos, the example I did of yours above took a few seconds to adjust.
