Great For Medium Spinning & Surf Casting!
I use my smoothest spinning reel on my most sensitive surf rod to produce this very light & sensitive combo! Helios HSX Spinning Reel on my Rockaway SP Surf Rod. Not my biggest or expensive pieces of gear from Okuma but it's my most favorite to use. If you enjoy Surf Perching California up to Oregon to Bonefishing the Florida flats then you know what i'm talking about.
The Helios comes in sizes 20, 30, 40 (basically 2K, 3K, 4K) and the Rockaway in sizes 8'6", 10', & 11' in 4 models. Nowadays i own extremely expensive rods & reels compared to these. But noting as smooth to give you the best enjoyment when feeling that strike to every flinch of the tail to it's landing. Yet the power is still "masked" so you don't feel that the fish is in charge.
I'd rather own pieces like this combo rather than the most expensive in the World. I truly enjoy my outings using this combo.
