Hi guys, I have been in & out of fishing over the years and own a 16m Shimano Beastmaster Competition from around 2006 ( the attached pics should help identify) but basically I lost a pwr top 2 kit last season and want to find a replacement. The pole is still like new give the very little use it has had since new. The top kits and cupping kit I have are cut back to equal lengths and are 2.5M long at that. Tried a universal one off the bay but with a few inches off that for a good fit to the No.4 taper and the underlength of 2.3M I started with it would have been about 2ft shorter than existing kits.
I know it's not a high end pole but was a lot of money to a pleasure angler back in 2006.
One option I thought of was to elasticate the cupping kit and might have better luck finding a universal cupping kit, but would that be a sensible thing to do? Can anyone help me out please with something that might fit?

Thanks for the reply Mark. I haven't tried anything other than a generic 18mm ebay top kit so far and the obvious ebay searches for the exact same pole or spares. I'll try thosr suggestions thanks.

Oxford, and occasionally Warrington Lancs
Your cupping kit will be a lot stronger than your power kits, there could be a possibility of undue stress on the number 4, I would ask at a tackle shop to see if its feasible.
If it is you can get an adjustable cupping kit, Preston and Garbolino do one, both are around 18mm but with a long strengthened band to cut back. These are around £50 though. Would be cheaper trying for universal topkit ,
Actual Shimano topkits will be expensive as well if you can get one .
Oakwood Angling do universals, as for their quality I can't comment.

Yeah, tbh the cupping kit does look a lot thicker bodied comparing with the PWR top 2's.
