This Is My "Go To" Procedure For Preparing Cut Squid!
I found hooking the squid to the hook securely will extend the time that the bait is submerged. I hook the squid strip 2x. I leave a 3/4 to a 1in exposed squid section above the eye of the hook. I then strap it down with bait thread. This makes it harder for predators to rip it off the hook. I finally will cut the bottom of that strip to create a "teaser" that'll visually entice a hungry fish to strike.
This style of my bait preparation has served me well over the years. With the use of Spydro Underwater Cameras i've been able to document this.
