Just returned from a great fun holiday, meeting old contacts for the first time and finding out more about fishing in this fabulous country.
My main objective was to catch a rohu. After two hours of vainly feeding and fishing pellets (they work brilliantly in India, why not here?), I hooked one on sweetcorn at depth.

A few more fish, including some nice Lampam (Java Barbs) and another rohu rounded off a good first session.

After the New Year, I got another chance to bag a few and put this net together on the waggler and corn again:

Very nice. Whereabouts were you? I've fished Penang around Batu Ferringi but only ever caught catfish there. Those fish of yours look great!

Dave, that is a lake, not a river. There are still some pretty ugly things in there though. At least one Mekong Cat pushing towards a ton and loads of Featherbacks that probably love to eat Lampam.

Geoff, it is on a pay pond just south of KL. Place is called Fish Valley ;-)
