Well, if people are sincerely interested I tend to chat with them. I don't mind and a bit of human contact even enhances a match day for me. Much to my surprise I had multiple chats with women this year, also interested in the fishing.

So no, I don't want to neglect passers by that are interested in what I'm doing. Men or women, although I have my preferences.

I think match fishing is a far more social event than pleasure angling,a large part of the day is the craic,some are still stuck up their own rear ends,but mostly everyone chats...the amount of anglers that if you are on a barbel stretch and you are float fishing,several of the barbel men wont even say good morning,a bit like the days of the carp angler,being aloof and looking down the nose of anyone doing something other than persue their 'royal' target,humph!
