My old Specialist brolly gave up the ghost yesterday and in need of a replacement. Going to be hard as need one for tight swims where I can use my Gardener screw in pole due to rock hard banks of lakes I fish (gravel, clay and brick pits). A 60" shelter is too large as most swims have small platform with enough room behind them for me to sit. Korum have various lightweight shelters which might do. I did use a Preston blue flat back brolly for my summer carping but not made any more. Any ideas...?

Your gardner spike will be required whichever brolly you decide on as they are so superior to the pole supplied by the manufacturers. There are 45" and 50" brollies which might suit. I have a Preston flat back which I suspect is too big. NGT do inexpensive but good quality gear and one of theirs might suit. In my experience no brolly is perfect and you compromise direct overhead cover for protection from driving rain and cold winds. I have 2 and do use them in varying conditions. One for foul weather and cold winds and the other for light drizzle. In both cases I use a gardner spike.

Fox do good brollies but they have all got bigger over the years. I would measure the space on your peg and then match it to a brolly in a Tackle shop if you can. The sizing relates to diameter and not radius.
