River Ribble Barbel

Hi, can anyone give me a few tips on barbel fishing on the ribble. My tackle is good but where as my set up, I'm struggling with bait or pellet size, hook size etc and where about in the water, fast or slow water. Any helpful tips would be so much appreciated . Thankyou very much

Im no expert having only lived locally for a year or so, but have fished the Severn a fair bit before the Ribble. Suspect a few others on here have more experience.

The Ribble isn't easy for barbel, its quite pressured and not that many fish come in daylight. However, the average size is good, certainly bigger than the Middle Severn.I don't think rigs and baits make massive difference - the main issue is finding the fish. Barbel aren't that choosy in my opinion.
