rod identification

can anyone help
i have a splitcane rod it has a red triangle at the base with the words manchester.london. bristol. around it with the word lindop inside the triangle
it is 8ft long. can anyone tell me any thing about it eg. the year the were made. is it worth anything. the top is broke but still in one peice

There's a William Lindop sports equipment shop in Manchester so I suspect that the logo on your rod might well be theirs and that the rod was made for them by one of the big makers. I've come across Wm Lindop match rods before.

Unless its a known make (and desirable) a rod like this might get you £20 on Ebay and that's assuming it is repairable.
