Can I just revise my advice about recharging silica gel? I've done it this way for ages, but the current advice is that the silica gel can suffer over 100C, so limit the oven temp to that, and leave it longer instead - two hours should be plenty.

Cheers mark, I won't waste Cakeys time if I can do that. It's only the odd photo, like one in every 3 or 400 or so, so I'm not overlly bothered.
Thanks though!

You can dry out silica gel in a microwave, takes a few minutes. I have some colour change gel, it's pink when it needs recharging, and goes blue when it's dry, (I have it in a jar, it's for dessicating microscope specimens)
