5 nutters turned up at a very wet and extremely windy Boddington reservoir this morning. After a short conflab in the carpark we climbed the slope into what seemed like another world. Waves breaking against the platforms and torrential rain. Ray Roberts plumped for the nearest peg to the carpark while John Step, its fishing Ian, myself and Steve King walked along to what we hoped would be slightly more sheltered pegs. They weren’t though!

I‘d barely started to set up when I noticed Steve’s rod was bent over and a big roach flashed in the murky water.

Deftly netted and unhooked it was a clunker.

Meanwhile Pete (John Step) also netted a fine roach...

I finally got my float into the water and had a couple of plump roach followed by a big perch...

Around 1pm the rain stopped and the sun came out.

Ian was catching roach and perch on the float, he looked wet but happy as ever..

Ray ( camo man) also had a few nice fish on the float and also looked happy despite the horrors of the morning.
