Waterproof clothing

Can anyone recommend some breathable waterproofs? I recently (5 weeks ago) bought Wychwood clothing but have just returned them to the shop. They were not waterproof (the membrane started delaminating). Does anyone have the Geoff Anderson Rhinoskin's? If so, any comments?

Andrew, try a specialist outdoor shop, if its breathable you want then in my opinion Gortex is still the best and they only allow it to be used in "vetted" garments from what i hear. Halkon Hunt use it in their fishing clothing so they may be worth contacting them to.

Andrew, take a look at the Orvis gear,
they do some quality Gortex clothing, designed for fly fisherfolk.
www.orvis.com then link to their UK site.

Andrew - firstly I can't fault Paul's and Carp's advice. Like most things, you get what you pay for.
If you are after specific fly fishing gear then check out the following web-sites - www.tightlines.co.uk & www.fishtec.co.uk both sell the Rhinoskin gear and alo the Ron Thompson gear which gets very good reviews and is great value for money.

Also, check out this months Trout Fisherman - it has a review on waterproofs. The Ron Thompson jacket comes out recommended.

Good Luck

I have been using the Musto FPX Fishing jacket and overtrousers for the last 3 years and they have seen some really atrocious conditions. I have always remained snug comfortable. The clothing is based around Goretex technology and comes with a lifetime guarantee which is genuine. My wife had a Musto Goretex riding jacket which started to let water in. We sent it back to Musto and they relined it with no quibbles
