Extremely rare 18[SUP]th[/SUP] century pot-bellied balck leather fisherman’s creel, approx 250 years old in astonishing condition
measuring approximately 11” wide, 6” deep and 6” tall,
With original brass hasp and riveted striker plate and twist lock button, original handmade brass hinges,
the hinged lid with central oval fish slot opens to reveal a brass band around top of pot belly base, fabulous example dating c1750, I actually owned this creel 30 years ago, and traded it for some brass reels, oh well, we all learn
a real piece of angling histrry ideal for a museum* display or up market tackle collection
