This is a stunning little all brass Hercules pattern dry fly reel by MacLeay of Inverness,
its the same reel that was retailed by Hardy c 1890 as the Hercules.
the is only 2-1/2" diameter, the check mechanism is under the front raised housing, white handle and single central screw and makers oval logo
smooth constant check clicker just purrs,
, correct slotted and waisted foot, all orignal screw pillars and parts, in superb condition, virtually all its original bronzing and dates* c1890, a true antique reel
