Hardy’s The Silex No.2, 7” sea fishing big game reel, fitted with twin factory reverse taper handles, 2 screw heavy drum latch and perforated face to spool, 3 rim controls including white handle lever, 6 screw smooth brass foot, internal check and brake mechanism all correct, the reel runs smooth and well, light blotching through use, can probably be polished out but we think it shows good character as it is, dates 1914-20 period, great big display piece.
